With prime access to the Zambezi National Park, the camp provides guided 4×4 tours of the park, where tourists can soak up the sights and sounds of the African bush. Not only does the park offer a spectacular range of birdlife, it is teeming with buffalo, zebra, impala, kudu, waterbuck, giraffe, crocodile and hippo. The park also has a number of lions, wild dogs, hyenas and leopards.

Chundu’s location gives it an impressive advantage. Other game vehicles are a rare sight, giving our tours a sense of exclusivity and tranquillity. Chundu guests are treated to a private world, where nothing else seems to exist but the beauty of Zimbabwe’s natural habitat.

Our friendly and professional guides were all born in Zimbabwe and are familiar with the area. They are dedicated to sharing their extensive knowledge with their guests and are sure to show you the magic that only Africa can reveal.

River Cruises

With the Zambezi River on our doorstep, one of Chundu’s most magnificent and popular activities is surely the sunset cruise. The camp operates daily cruises, allowing guests to experience Zimbabwe’s breathtaking beauty from the water. Guests are encouraged to sit back and relax with a ice cold drink, while soaking up the pink and purple hues of an African sunset across the water. Each cruise offers a variety of interesting sights and sounds, particularly the presence of our native wildlife along the river bank.

Bush walks and Birding

Chundu has a range of professional and experienced guides willing to take those who dare a little closer to the wildlife action. Our friendly staff are on hand to arrange bush walks for those interested in exploring the island terrain on foot. Morning walks are particularly beautiful. The colours of the morning sky are a photographers dream. The sounds of the native animal and birdlife are bound to keep guests awake and alert! Our guides love to share interesting local knowledge of the area, and are more than happy to introduce guests to our resident family of bushbuck!

Fishing

The Zambezi River is a fantastic hunting ground for the elusive Tiger Fish, well known for its tenacious attitude and absolute power in the fresh waters of Southern Africa.  Our fishing guides will show you exactly where to fish, giving you the best chance of catching one of these fantastic fighting fish. There are also a generous population of Tilapia species, which are great fun to catch and even more delicious to eat!

Nembwe bream is another very popular species in these parts. Catching one makes for a very exciting day on the water, surrounded by the untouched wilderness of Africa.

Victoria Falls

What better way to experience Zimbabwe than a visit to the famous and majestic Victoria Falls. Known as Mosi-oa-Tunya to the locals, this magnificent waterfall is even more breathtaking in the flesh. We encourage all our guests to experience the power of this natural wonder and are happy to arrange transfers to and from the town of Victoria Falls.

The area also offers a variety of adrenalin activities from bungee jumping and white water rafting to gorge swings and flying fox rides. There are also a range of exciting activities for those not partial to adrenalin sports. Flights in a helicopter or micro-light are a fantastic way to experience the Falls. Sunset cruises are also incredibly popular.
